Background
She grew up in Skyhaven, a place where near-clean technology exists. She always has enjoyed looking up at the blue sky, and hopes to keep it that same color every day.

She started on her pokemon journey while she was 10. Her starter was Charmander, and she succeeded in capturing Trapinch and Pidgey. Using all three, she battled her way through the Unova region, gaining Braviary and Archeops.

She developed a condition similar to ALS after her 7th gym badge on her 5th year of traveling. This prevented her from using them properly due to weakened nerves. Her legs were too weak to explore normally. Charmander was already a Charizard, and brought her to a hospital for treatment. The degeneration of the nerves in her legs lessened, so she could stand upright without collapsing. As of today, her lower legs are immobile and she is unable to walk, but can stand if she uses support.

She still wants to continue training pokemon and explore like many pokemon trainers do. She decided the sky would be her way to travel and taught all of her pokemon “Fly”. However, she could not move her legs to straddle any of the pokémon to ride on their back, and after a few close calls of Flygon and Charizard almost dropping her, she had to think of a different way to be able to fly.

She watched a documentary on dinosaurs and saw an Aerodactyl lifting objects with its talons. She then went on the search for one, and a charity donated one to her. Now she could be travel within its talons and fly without fear of falling. Wanting to spend time with her other pokemon as well, she had a wheelchair company craft a hang-glider-like harness so she can strap herself to Flygon and others. She can fly in many places of exploration and they can walk in her place.

Since she wants to have the sky so clean, the city rallied around her to take the local gym in a new direction since steel gyms were starting to become commonplace. They all convinced her to become the new gym leader and using her philosophies about “the clear blue sky” to make the gym even better, and provided her with funding for the gym.

A few years have passed and she has taken the gym in this new direction with her visions of the sky. She wants to ensure a future where all skies are clear on sunny days.




Personality
She is rather social and tries to learn about the story of everything that seems villainous, so she can have a future plan to put a stop to it. She is disabled, and thinks it is stupid when people judge by her looks. She is a deep thinker and talks about proverbs a lot, especially about the sky, but at the same time, will spit out fun wisecracks to entertain whoever she is talking to.

She straps herself to her pokemon to allow them to walk for her, and enjoys flying. She treats them very well, often planning for future battles and conflicts. She generally plans ahead to make sure her future is planned out well.

As a gym leader, she knows the specializations of her pokémon and tries to improve their strengths while working on their weaknesses so she can provide an effective challenge for anyone that challenges her.

Skyhaven

The city is located next to a huge natural gas deposit, so as of 100 years ago, the technology of the city had evolved beyond what was readily available at the time. Motorcycles, cars, and airships powered by natural gas allowed everyone to get places faster. As technology improved, the refining of the natural gas allowed the entire city to run on lower-emission fuel and use its byproducts for fertilizer for farming, so there was no shortage of food. To make sure that the air remained clean, more trees were planted around the city, resulting in a highly industrialized city surrounded by trees with little to no pollution in it. When electricity became in demand, windmills and eventually a geothermal power plant was set up in order to make sure that the city did not become further polluted by a natural gas power plant.

To forever remind the inhabitants of the quest for an energy-efficient and clean technology, the inhabitants of the city have set up the city as a historical site and also testament to the future in hopes that the world will be able to research an efficient fuel source that doesn’t pollute. Though the technology is modern, all architecture and most technology is built in “The Last Airbender”-esque steampunk style (unless a newer style poses less safety hazards), and powered by electricity, natural gas, or biofuel. Though the appearance of the city looks like it is the future of yesterday, the ideals of the city are those that look toward a cleaner future.

Since the city is mostly clean, all motor vehicles entering the city must pass an emissions test, and gasoline (and coal) is unavailable in the city. With no shortage of natural gas, gas is inexpensive, as is biofuel.

One thing people are cautious about in the city is the use of fire-types, since a gas leak could lead to large chemical fires. It would be wise to reduce the use of fire-types in the city.


The Gym
Her gym is actually a flying airship with most of its structure torn off. She feels that, in order to be at one with the sky- you must learn to develop a strong connection to the inner workings of an airship. The airship has many randomly spaced gears of all sizes in all angles, always turning and throwing people off balance. The airship also is moving a designated route around the city during the same time. Visitors or trainers have a balcony on each side of the airship, 20 feet away from each other.
